(Mexico) – Danielle Feinberg of Pixar returns to sixteenth annual IALD Enlighten Americas conference as opening keynote speaker.

Architectural lighting design professionals and business leaders across North America will gather this October at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort + Convention Center in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, México for the sixteenth annual International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Enlighten Americas conference.

From 13-15 October, IALD Enlighten Americas attendees will immerse themselves in business-critical issues, obtaining insider knowledge and hands-on advice from leading lighting experts. Over three days, IALD Enlighten Americas will provide opportunities to join with like-minded designers and professionals, share ideas with other creative visionaries and discover new tools to make work more satisfying and productive.

This year’s notable list of speakers offer a variety of industry thought leadership, next generation technology and practical advice. The conference program will provide 22 inspirational and informational 60-90 minute sessions in three concurrent tracks, featuring 35 architectural lighting design experts from nine countries.

This year, back by popular demand, Danielle Feinberg, director of photography at Pixar Animation Studios, will be the opening keynote speaker. Feinberg began her career at Pixar Animation Studios in February 1997 on the feature film A Bug’s Life. She quickly discovered her love for lighting and went on to light on many of Pixar’s feature films including Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., the Academy Award-winning Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and WALL-E. Most recently, Feinberg completed work as the Director of Photography for Lighting on Disney-Pixar’s Academy Award-winning Brave, and is now working on Pixar’s Fall 2017 film Coco.

Her love of combining computers and art began when she was eight years old, and first programmed a Logo turtle to create images. This eventually led her to a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Harvard University. Now, in addition to her Pixar work, she works with teenage girls, encouraging them to pursue code, math and science by demonstrating to them the same beautiful simplicity she found with the programmed art of the Logo turtle.

Ending the conference, Martin Lupton and Sharon Stammers, founders of Light Collective in the UK, will deliver a one-of-a-kind lighting experience exclusively curated for attendees. Lupton’s and Stammers’ work with light spans over 20 years and includes lighting designs for architecture, pop up venues, community projects, exhibition stands, light festivals, guerrilla lighting, and social movements.
