Volume Two of Collected Light out now

17th March 2025

(Worldwide) – Light Collective has released volume two of its Collected Light series, highlighting women who work with light as an art medium.

Following the positive response to the first book and exhibitions, Light Collective identified a growing number of women artists whose work aligned with the project, leading to the development of Collected Light: Volume Two.

Volume two features 42 additional artists. Contributors to this edition include Alex Leyva, Alicia Eggert, Andrea Bowers, Chila Kumari Singh Burman, and many others, representing a diverse array of artistic styles and approaches.

Light Collective’s work engages in architectural lighting design and advocacy efforts such as Women in Lighting (WIL), which was established to elevate the visibility of women in the field and to address bias in professional lighting. This led to the creation of the Collected Light book series, which aims to amplify the work of female artists within the discipline.

Collected Light: Volume One was launched alongside an exhibition in London in November 2022, featuring six women artists and their works. The exhibition later travelled to Milan in March 2023, where it expanded to include additional artists. The touring exhibition continued in 2024 in Hong Kong, further broadening its scope and showcasing more women working with light.
